Encroached lands worth Rs. 4.3k cr 'freed' in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: FOLLOWING a special drive by the Revenue Department, encroached lands valued at Rs 4,291 crore have been restored in Visakhapatnam in the last one year.
A release issued by the government stated that on Sunday itself they had 'freed' 49 aces worth Rs 791 crore.
Proceedings have been launched as per law against those involved in land-grabbing. Realty prices went up steeply in Visakhapatnam after the YSRCP Government declared its decision to make the city the executive capital.
The encroachments were found on the city outskirts at Rushikonda, PM Palem, Anandapuram, Kapulauppada, Sontyam and Kommadi.
